Hello, I am a researcher in computational mechanics. My research focuses on the development of a new explicit solid solver in the open source code OpenFOAM to solve fast-transient solid dynamic problems. The mixed formulation which we employ overcomes a number of shortcomings (volumetric locking, shear locking, pressure instabilities etc.) posed by the conventional displacement based formulations in commercial Finite Element codes. ESI group organises an OpenFOAM User Conference to interact with users and developers across the OpenFOAM community and share knowledge. Our paper entitled 'Large strain solid dynamics in OpenFOAM' has been awarded 'The Best Student Paper' at the '4th Annual OpenFOAM User Conference 2016' held in Cologne, Germany.

OpenFOAM workshop conducted at UPC BarcelonaTech, Spain.
Recently I conducted an OpenFOAM workshop at UPC BarcelonaTech (Campus Nord) which was intended for beginners of OpenFOAM. We familiarised ourselves with the OpenFOAM environment and understood the basic working of the software including meshing, solving and post-processing. The learning process was enhanced through a series of hands-on tutorials.
